This Privacy Policy explains how Rokqie ("we", "our", the "App"), operated by Quantum Nova Technologies Pvt Ltd, collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our ride-hailing application for riders and drivers.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

• Account & identity: mobile phone number (used for OTP sign-in via Firebase Phone Authentication), display name, and optional profile details such as email address.
• Driver verification data: vehicle details (type, model, registration), driver code, and verification documents submitted for driver onboarding.
• Ride details: pickup and drop-off addresses, saved locations, scheduled ride times, fare bids, ride preferences, and special instructions.
• Payment details: wallet transactions, payment method selections, and UPI ID (for drivers receiving payouts).
• Support & feedback: ratings, reviews, complaints, and messages you send us.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Precise location (GPS):
  • Riders: your location is used to set pickup points, find nearby drivers, and share live trip progress during an active ride.
  • Drivers: your location is collected continuously while you are marked "Online", including in the background via a foreground service, so we can dispatch nearby ride requests and share your live position with the matched rider.
• Device & app data: device model, OS version, app version, language preference, and push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
• Usage data: features used, screens visited, ride history, and diagnostic/crash logs.
• Safety events: SOS alerts, which capture your live location, ride details, and alert timestamp.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Authenticate you via phone-number OTP and maintain your account.
• Match riders with nearby available drivers using location and geohash data.
• Execute rides: dispatch requests, share live driver/rider location during trips, process bids on scheduled rides, and compute fares.
• Operate the in-app wallet, advance payments, driver payouts, and cancellation penalties.
• Send ride status, safety, and promotional push notifications.
• Respond to SOS emergencies and share alerts with designated contacts or authorities.
• Verify driver identity and documents; prevent fraud and abuse.
• Improve the app, fix bugs, and analyze usage.
• Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.

3. Information We Share

• Between riders and drivers: name, phone number, photo, live location, vehicle details, and pickup/drop points are shared with your matched counterpart for the duration of a ride.
• Service providers (processors):
  • Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics/analytics) — hosts and processes app data on our behalf.
  • Google Maps Platform (Maps SDK, Places API) — provides maps, geocoding, and places search.
  • Payment providers — where applicable, to process wallet top-ups and payouts.
• Legal & safety: we may disclose data to authorities where required by law or to protect users' safety (e.g., SOS incidents).

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Retention

• Account and profile data is retained while your account is active.
• Completed and cancelled ride records are retained for operational, dispute-resolution, tax, and legal purposes.
• You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data (see Section 6); some records may be retained where legally required or for legitimate business needs such as fraud prevention.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase security rules, and restricted server-side access. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but take reasonable steps to protect your data.

6. Your Rights & Choices

• Access & correction: you can view and update profile details in the app.
• Location: you can revoke location permission in device settings; the app cannot match rides or dispatch without it. Drivers can stop sharing location by going Offline.
• Account deletion: request deletion in the app or via the contact below. Deletion removes your profile and personal identifiers; anonymized or legally-required records may persist.
• Notifications: promotional notifications can be disabled in device settings; transactional ride alerts may continue while using the service.

7. Children's Privacy

Rokqie is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn that a minor's data was collected, we will delete it.

8. International Transfers

Data may be processed on servers located outside your country (e.g., Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure). By using the app you consent to such transfers, protected by appropriate safeguards.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or via this page's updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
